Chess: I was wrongly banned by NCF, says Bomo

Bomo was banned on June 22, 2019 after allegations of fraudulently receiving 14 chess boards and 14 chess clocks from the organisers of the 43rd world chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia in October 2018, but has seen the ban nullified by the world governing body (FIDE). The chess head coach, Bayelsa state however told Sunday PUNCH that the charges against him were nothing but an attack on his career. “The allegation filed against me was that I was accused of fraudulently receiving 14 chess boards and 14 chess clocks from the organisers of the 43rd world chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia in October 2018. “It is a good thing that the ban imposed on me by NCF has been nullified by FIDE. So, it is not just about having the ban nullified because a lot of damage has been done.”Copyright PUNCH.
