Just a month after praising China for its handing of the COVID-19 outbreak, U.S. President Donald Trump has sent out a racist tweet terming the coronavirus as “Chinese Virus”. “The United States will be powerfully supporting those industries, like Airlines and others, that are particularly affected by the Chinese Virus. Trump’s allies including Republican senators, as AFP pointed out, had previously referred to the pandemic as the “Chinese coronavirus”. The US needs to cooperate with China to handle the #COVID19 pandemic together, and provoking China at this time can only worsen its predicament. China suggested last week that the U.S. military might have brought the coronavirus to Wuhan.
