He blamed incursions by Indian troops in the area from early May for a midnight clash on Monday that left 20 Indian soldiers dead. This is the Galwan valley where the brawl between Indian and Chinese soldiers took place. China blames Indian soldiers for provoking the conflict, which is thought to have left around 45 Chinese soldiers dead or injured. Indian broadcaster NDTV said the Chinese build-up also included 'pre-fabricated huts for accommodation' and a Chinese 'motorcade' near the site of the clash.
