Vice President Michael Pence has warned that the projects would drown Belt and Road partners in a "sea of debt." These projects now extend to more than 70 countries worldwide and its scale has grown to $1 trillion or more, the Asia Society report finds. The Asia Society's recently released research report on the China outreach initiative examines infrastructure projects in four countries: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia. The report includes five recommendations by a task force of experts led by Daniel Russel, a VP at the Asia Society Policy Initiative.
