Chinese actress Yao Chen recently dropped a bombshell after revealing that she quietly divorced cinematographer Cao Yu several years ago. The former couple broke the news in a joint statement posted to Weibo on Monday (March 16). In the post, Yao, 46, and Cao explained that they had ended their marriage “many years ago” but chose to keep the separation private at the time, as their children were still very young. They later welcomed a son in 2013, followed by a daughter in 2016. Beyond their relationship, the duo also shares a close creative partnership in the film industry, co-founding the production company Bad Rabbit Pictures in 2017.
