Christmas decorations worth €2.1m, 36 tonnes of Christmas lighting and nearly one million bottles of Prosecco worth €2.1m were among the items imported to Ireland this time last year. It comes as the Central Statistics Office (CSO) revealed a selection of seasonal statistics about the Christmas period in 2024. New data shows that in December last year, Ireland imported €2.1m worth of Christmas items, such as baubles and decorations. The data also showed that Friday was the most popular day for happy couples to get married in December 2024. New parents welcomed 82 Christmas babies last year, including 39 girls and 45 boys born on Christmas Day.
