An attendance of over 42,000 came through the turnstiles with an RTE audience that peaked at 507,400 underlines the fact. It's a battle that had peaked during the 1970s but their modern rivalry arguably puts even those battles in the shade. However, Dessie Farrell will have been a little unhappy with the manner in which Dublin conceded the late equalising point. And much like their rivalry with Kerry the Dubs hold the upperhand on their opponents from the west. Dublin are again likely to field an experienced line-up as the 'bedding in' process continues for the new management.
