Civil servants get Tuesday deadline for verification

The Federal Government has set Tuesday, March 31, as deadline for the verification of civil servants in the pool of the Federal Civil Service. According to a memo signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, civil servants who fail to comply risk suspension from the payroll of the Federal Government. This development comes as the Federal Government continues plans to weed off ghost workers in the federal civil service. All federal civil servants were earlier required to complete the two‑part exercise—personnel verification and a skill‑assessment component—by mid‑December 2025 to receive official completion certificates before the postponement of the deadline. Results from PASGA will guide policy decisions on recruitment, career progression, and the allocation of resources to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of the federal civil service.
