America’s job market is probably still recovering—just not as swiftly as some investors thought. The Labor Department on Thursday reported that the number of people filing new unemployment-insurance claims in the week ended this past Saturday came to a seasonally adjusted 1.5 million, a drop of just 58,000 from a week earlier.
