Opposition leaders Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang’i, Eugene Wamalwa and Kalonzo Musyoka. By KPC ReporterThe United Alternative Government has announced plans to initiate private prosecutions over the Witima ACK Church attack and alleged assassination attempt on Rigathi Gachagua. In a press statement on Thursday, the opposition outfit said it would no longer engage the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, accusing senior government officials of obstructing justice. The group said it met the Inspector General at Jogoo House on January 30 regarding the violent attack at Witima ACK Church in Othaya and the attempted assassination of Second Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. “We left that meeting in good faith, believing that investigations would proceed independently and that justice would follow,” the statement read.
