Clark International Airport sees first commercial Airbus A380 flight landing

MANILA, Philippines — The Clark International Airport just received its first commercial Airbus A380 flight — the world’s largest passenger plane — after the giant aircraft landed on Wednesday. ADVERTISEMENTAccording to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the A380 flight was brought in by Emirates, a world-class airline and the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Joshua Bingcang, Clark Development Corporation head Noel Manankil, Clark International Airport Corporation chief Gen. Aaron Aquino and other officials were present during the ceremony. “Today’s A380 maiden flight in Clark forms part of Emirates’ celebration of their 30th anniversary of serving the Philippines,” BCDA said. It was announced by the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (Lipad) Corp. that the Emirates would be launching its A380 flights in Clark, which would help meet demands for flights in the country with its larger capacity.
