Traffic heading to and from the city centre was disrupted as the tree fell onto the A193 Newbridge Street. ‌This resulted in a section of the road being closed heading eastbound and delays from the A167(M) to Simpson Terrace. Council teams responded to the incident and were able to clear the road ahead of rush hour. It comes amid a Met Office Yellow weather warning for the region, which covers much of Northern England and Scotland.
