Closed zoo finds home for all its animals after euthanasia fears


The Wild Planet Trust this week said it cannot afford to reopen its Living Coasts site due to the huge costs incurred during the lockdown. In a Q&A on their website, the zoo revealed how if suitable homes could not be found, then some animals would be put to sleep. (Image: Living Coasts Zoo & Aquarium in Torquay)The animals will not be moved immediately as moving animals to other zoos and aquariums is a complex process. Most of the animals kept at Living Coasts are marine species that will need specialist facilities. Living Coasts says it has hosted thousands of school trips since it opened in 2003.
