Roughly 70% of organisations have experienced cloud application security challenges stemming from misconfigurations and limited centralised management, according to a cloud security posture assessment jointly conducted by cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA). Private cloud security posture scored 77%. These phases include establishing shared security standards, deploying cloud-native application protection platforms, and enforcing baseline controls to minimise misconfigurations. The agency also plans to launch a National AI & Cloud Security Center of Excellence and update procurement standards to embed security and compliance requirements from the outset.
