Eyewitnesses raced to help free the driver and pupils from the wreckage in the minutes that followed the shock incident. But, despite the best efforts of the massive emergency response, bus company Quinn Coaches has since confirmed the driver of the bus has passed away. ‌A spokesperson for the private bus company said: "We are deeply saddened to confirm that one of our drivers was involved in a road traffic accident whilst transporting school children today. Police crash scene investigators remain at the scene tonight as they try to piece together what led to the horror crash.
