Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11: The Centre has approved a 451km long coastal highway running from Gopalpur to Digha in Bengal under its Bharatmala Pariyojana. Of the 451.44km proposed highway, 6.5km road will be in Bengal. The highway, which will provide connectivity to inaccessible coastal regions of the state, is expected to boost tourism. The minutes of the meeting showed that the proposed highway would have 29 major bridges, including one over the Chilika lake.
