The movie’s second weekend collections nearly tripled its first—a $44.3 million bonanza that represented one of the biggest weekends ever for an animated feature in the PRC. Depending on how it performs this weekend, Coco could still catch or surpass the $195 million haul that Dangal collected earlier this year. At the very worst, it will still handily beat Despicable Me 3 and will very likely take down Kung Fu Panda 3’s $155 million total, the second biggest ever for an animated film in the PRC.
