Shillong, July 22: Though the Supreme Court stayed the demolition drive, the East Jaintia Hills district administration can seal the premises of the coke plants which will remain non-operational. “Demolition of coke plants, as directed by the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District shall remain stayed. However, the said Deputy Commissioner shall be at liberty to seal the coke plants’ premises which shall remain non-operational”, the Supreme Court said in its order on Saturday.
