Colchester Harbour Marina is the first port on Lake Erie to be recognized by Environmental Defence, an organization that encourages environmental protection. The marina is one of 27 beaches and eight marinas across Canada given a Blue Flag, which is an international eco-certification, according to Environmental Defence. The Blue Flag recognizes high international standards in water quality, environmental management and environmental education. "We're so pleased to give Colchester Harbour Marina its first Blue Flag." Colchester Harbour Marina is one of three to receive a Blue Flag for the first time.
