RTÉ has confirmed it received just over a dozen complaints after featuring an interview with the Israeli ambassador to Ireland. RTÉ carried the interview with Ophir Kariv for the News At One With Bryan Dobson on May 12 in the wake of the Israeli air strikes on Palestinian targets in Gaza. As a result, RTÉ received seven calls and six emails containing negative feedback. The following day, Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney ruled out expelling the Israeli ambassador, saying it “won’t save a single Palestinian child or Israeli”. “The idea that you advance the argument that you’re making in refusing to talk to a government or ambassador is flawed.
