President of the Hong Kong Medical Association Gabriel Choi Kin said authorities need to be well-planned for the compulsory testing. There should be clear guidelines on what circumstances should patients receive compulsory testing, not to discourage people from seeking medical attention when they are feeling unwell, said president of the Hong Kong Medical Association Gabriel Choi Kin. Choi said on a radio program today that the compulsory testing might jeopardize the doctor-patient relationship if doctors are required to alert authorities when they see patients with coronavirus symptoms. “People infected with the coronavirus could have a wide range of symptoms, it is essential that the government list clearly with what symptoms would require compulsory testing, and how they would proceed the testing,” said Choi. Choi also pointed out that the government would need to prepare enough specimen bottles for the compulsory testing, and have enough manpower to follow up on these cases.
