The complaint stated that the woman had cheated several men by marrying and then extorting money from them. “From the documents on record it seems the accused has performed several marriages and has used those marriages to dupe and extort money from the husband. The complainant, Balvinder Singh, a truck driver, had moved an application to register an FIR against his wife Shalu alias Malkit Kaur. In his plea, filed through advocate PrashantManchanda, Singh alleged that he met Shalu in November 2011 following which they were married. The complaint claimed more such marriages were unearthed, where Shalu had deserted her previous husbands and extorted money from them by threatening to implicate them in false cases.
