A billboard in Michigan paid for by the Democratic National Committee in February highlighted Mellon's support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s super PAC. Biden and Trump are scheduled to face off in their first debate of the campaign next Thursday in Atlanta. Kennedy’s campaign raised just $2.6 million in May and had just $6.4 million in the bank at the end of the month, according to FEC filings. His bid has largely relied on the wealth of his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, who contributed $8 million of her own money in April.
