While it is good to introduce the hospitalisation rate as a metric, it is equally important to continue disclosing the number of new Covid-19 cases daily even though over 98% of them have only mild or no symptoms. This is because the high number can be scary and those who fear contracting the coronavirus would try to stay home as much as possible. As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise if new cases of Covid-19 could still rise beyond the record high of 20,596 that was recorded on Thursday. I certainly hope this will not happen, but I fear it will if the political situation in the country remains unstable.
