TEMERLOH: A contractor has lost RM356,342 after falling victim to a non-existent investment scheme. Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the victim, a 34-year-old man, saw an investment advertisement on Google on Feb 18 through a website known as "marinasand". He said the victim made 16 transactions, using both his personal savings and company funds, into five different bank accounts between Feb 18 and March 19. "The victim only received an initial return of around RM1,000 before realising he no longer had access to the investment website," he said. Yahaya advised the public to consult and seek early advice from the police before making any investments to avoid becoming victims of such scams.
