Controversial rookie MP Kevin Vuong breaks silence, says he was ‘naive’ to not reveal past sex assault charges had been withdrawn

Controversial rookie MP Kevin Vuong, who was fired by the Liberals days before the Sept. 20 federal election, has broken his silence. “I was naive,” he told Moore, insisting he thought that because Crown prosecutors withdrew the charges he did not need to disclose that. In his interview, Vuong declined to discuss the alleged events of April 8, 2019. He was anointed as the Liberal candidate for the key Toronto riding earlier in the summer after veteran incumbent Liberal MP Adam Vaughan announced his retirement. The woman went to the bathroom where she locked the door and contacted a friend, who arrived soon after and told Vuong to leave, which he did without any confrontation.
