Cops quiz trio rescued in Bangkok - Nation

KUALA LUMPUR: The three Malaysians rescued by Thai police from being forced to work for a Macau scam syndicate in Bangkok are being held for questioning by the police, said Comm Datuk Amar Singh. It is learnt that the trio are being held at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters. Jack flew to Bangkok the very next day with the information he received and alerted the Malaysian Embassy, which sought help from the Thai police. They were “interviewed” by syndicate members in Malaysia and offered RM5,000 monthly but were told that they had to be based in Bangkok. Macau scams usually start with a phone call from a scammer pretending to be an officer from a bank, government agency or debt collector.
