Photo: Sean LydonCorofin footballers and Galway camogie among People of the YearTHOSE involved in various causes, including community projects, sport, charity and farming, were honoured at Sunday night’s 2020 Galway People of the Year Awards, which was postponed on a number of occasions previously due to Covid. All have one thing in common in that they are ordinary people who have worked hard to enrich the lives of others. The success of Galway Camogie was also recognised, with awards to team captain Sarah Dervan, manager Cathal Murray and secretary Ann Kearney. Galway Bay FM hurling commentator Sean Walsh from Turloughmore was feted for his contribution to the promotion of hurling on local radio, going back to 1989.
