There is no way for any nation to survive what is coming without massive economic support from the government. One can hope that the escalating severity of the crash will persuade them to take economic support seriously. Many, if not most, sectors of American industry will require government help to make it to the other side of this collapse. Rescuing American industry should not be inherently scandalous. It is not the bailouts that should be offensive, but American industry itself.
