Summer school classes started June 21 or June 22 — depending on the grade level — and concluded July 23. But there also were cases of possible transmission directly related to participation in summer school — a total of 12 over the five weeks. Officials found no cause for alarm regarding the summer school infections. By the last week of summer school, that rate had risen to 6 in 1,000 tests. These programs generally began a week before summer school and also lasted a week longer.
