A proposal for corporate and media boxes to be added to Trafalgar Park's west stand has been received favourably by many Nelson city councillors, but still has a way to go. Edwards wanted to build the boxes ahead of the All Blacks' test at Trafalgar Park in October next year, to modernise the stadium and provide space for media and corporate events. He thought costs to the council would be "minimal," and after being built the corporate boxes would be council assets which could be hired out. Edwards said the TRU would want to install corporate boxes at some point, even if it couldn't be done in time for the All Blacks' test.
