Cyberthreats and data breaches still occur because organizations are not focused on the data. Organizations need tools that control access to data at all times, just as they control devices, users and networks. These are malicious capabilities that survive reboots and hide in places that most security teams never think to look (nor do they have the capability to do so). Further, social media is a primary tool for businesses to grow brands and even communicate. Not Having An Information Security ProgramThe fundamental common denominator I continue to see in all organizations—but particularly in small and medium-sized businesses—is that they don’t create a basic information security program with core policies and procedures.
