Staff at Blochairn recycling centre have been asking for a place to store their bikes after council officials raised concerns about cycling equipment left at the complex during working hours. Glasgow City Council said bikes have now been moved within the depot for the time being and that they want to support staff being able to travel to work by the most sustainable means. Health and safety has told us that we need to move their bikes from the complex because there is nowhere to store them. “Our workers are promoting health and well-being and clean air in a recycling plant but the council has not provided a bike rack for them yet. “There are about nine or ten employees cycling into work who have been told they have to remove their bikes from the plant.
