This lunar expedition follows the 2019 Chandrayaan-2 mission, with the objective of achieving a soft landing on the moon’s surface. The Chandrayaan-3 mission, India’s third lunar mission, consists of an indigenous lander module (LM), propulsion module (PM), and a rover, which aims to develop and demonstrate new technologies needed for inter-planetary missions. Both the lander and the rover are equipped with scientific payloads to conduct experiments on the lunar surface, as reported by ISRO.
