A Rajbari court on Wednesday ordered to send Sonia Akhter Smriti to jail for spreading rumours about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on social media. Rajbari Sadar police station OC Shahadat Hossain said Smriti sought for bail which the court rejected. In a raid in the early hours of Wednesday, the law enforcement agency arrested Sonia Akhter Smriti at her home in Beradanga under Rajbari municipality. Sonia Akhter Smriti is the founder of the voluntary organization Rajbari Blood Donors Club. Smriti went live on Facebook before her arrest and was heard talking to policemen.
