PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has recorded 2,023 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Oct 15), bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4,865,480 since the pandemic began. The Health Ministry's KKMNow portal reported that 2,010 of the new Covid-19 infections were local transmissions while 13 were imported cases. There were 1,699 recoveries, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 4,805,184. There are currently 23,881 active Covid-19 infections in the country, with 22,882 (95.8%) observing home quarantine. Of this number, 965 Covid-19 patients (4%), have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, with 34 (0.15%) warded in intensive care units (ICU).
