A new paper has suggested that Covid-19 has affects on sperm count and quality, but it isn't yet ... [+] known whether this could lead to long-term effects on male fertility. Now a new report has added possible detrimental effects on male fertility to the already-long list. In the men recovering from Covid-19, 39% of them had low sperm counts, despite having previously had at least one biological child through natural pregnancy. There was also no data on sperm number and quality in the men before they became sick with Covid-19, so it is possible, albeit unlikely, that the virus was not the cause of the low sperm quality in some of them. Despite these study limitations, if the SARS-CoV2 coronavirus does cause male fertility problems, it will be far from the first virus to do so.
