The latest Test and Trace figures show that 307,758 people in England tested positive at least once in the week to July 21Nearly 700,000 alerts were sent out by the NHS Covid-19 tracing app last week telling people to self-isolate, as the impact of the “pingdemic” continues to play out across the country. Official figures show a record 689,313 alerts were sent to users of the app in England and Wales in the week to July 21, telling them they had been in close contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus and should self-isolate for ten days. In England a further 535,732 people were contacted directly by Test and Trace officials and told to isolate.
