Data from the Office of National Statistics' (ONS) Infection Survey show around 1 in 160 people are testing positive with Covid-19. Unlike most testing figures, it uses a formula to estimate total cases of coronavirus - regardless of whether people have tested positive or not. In Scotland, coronavirus cases do not seem to have "levelled off" as Nicola Sturgeon hoped, with 1 in 100 people testing positive the week ending July 3. Last week 35,000 people in Scotland tested positive for Covid-19; with 211,000 in England; 6,800 in Wales and 2,800 in Northern Ireland. And on Thursday, the UK had another 32,551 reported coronavirus cases and 35 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.
