Craig Bellamy has quit his role as assistant manager at Anderlecht to deal with depression. The former Wales, Liverpool and Manchester City striker revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with the condition, which he said had affected him during his playing days, too. He had been assistant to his former City team-mate Vincent Kompany for the last two years at the Belgian club, who posted a statement on their website last night revealing that Bellamy’s depression had resurfaced.
