Macallan is regularly breaking world records with its rare old whisky. Last year, Dalmore released a 50 year old whisky, bottled in a Baccarat crystal decanter, for £50,000So you would think when a new old premium Scotch whisky is announced, it will have a price to match. It will be giving its 51-year old whisky away for free in bars around the world. It may be the first time I've heard of a 50+ year old whisky marketing itself as an uncollectable item. I suspect that once the campaign concludes it may be the most-sampled 50+ year old Scotch whisky ever.
