The McLaren. Photo: suppliedThe Australian businessman who crashed his $20 million McLaren F1 sports car on Glenorchy-Queenstown Rd last year has been granted diversion by police. A Wellington-based police media adviser said in an emailed statement today that Fitzgerald had completed diversion. The 1994 car was part of the inaugural Epic New Zealand Road Tour, which pays tribute to the brand's Kiwi founder Bruce McLaren. A convoy of 31 McLarens from around the world travelled from Auckland to Queenstown.
