The creators and stars of the Netflix show “Beef” have come out in defense of their colleague, David Choe, after an old podcast episode resurfaced in which he allegedly talked about sexually assaulting a masseuse. The statement released by Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, and Lee Sung Jin has been confirmed by Netflix as authentic. The stars of “Beef” acknowledged Choe’s wrongdoing in the past but stated that he has been seeking therapy to better himself over the years. However, when the podcast episode resurfaced, Choe released a statement on Instagram three years ago blaming his mental illness for the story. He added that he has spent the last few years seeking therapy and helping heal other people through love and action.
