One person has died and four others have been injured, two of them critically, after a lifeboat fell from the world’s largest cruise liner while it was docked at Marseille. The boat, with five crew members on board, reportedly detached from the fifth deck of the Harmony of the Seas during a training exercise and fell 10 metres (30ft) into the water. French gendarmes have opened an inquiry into the cause of the accident and are examining why cables attaching the lifeboat to the liner suddenly broke. The Harmony of the Seas is a 120,000-tonne liner operated by Royal Caribbean, based in Florida. Royal Caribbean said: “We regret the sad death of a crew member of the Harmony of the Seas that happened this morning during a rescue exercise in the port of Marseille.
