The 35-year-old had struggled for form since the return of football, and was unable to prevent his side slumping to a loss to Napoli in the Coppa Italia final last week. The goal was his 22nd in the Serie A this season, although he is still five behind the current top scorer Ciro Immobile, who has bagged a hugely impressive 27 goals for Lazio. (Image: REUTERS)Ronaldo is already the top-scoring Portuguese player in Premier League history following his 84 goals for Manchester United, and he also comfortably holds the record in La Liga after his staggering 311 goals in 292 appearances for Real Madrid. He and Juventus will be back in action on Friday night to take on Lecce, but in the meantime they will be hoping Atalanta can do them a favour in the title race as they host second-placed Lazio on Wednesday.
