Croke Park confirmed for Man United v Leeds friendly — with two conditions

Croke Park has been confirmed as the venue for an August 12th friendly between Manchester United and Leeds United. The game is subject to Leeds retaining their Premier League place and not qualifying for the Community Shield via the FA Cup. It will be the first soccer fixture played at Croke Park since 2009, when the Republic of Ireland faced France in a World Cup play-off in front of 79,000 fans. And it will be the first club soccer fixture played at GAA HQ. Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox said: “We’re excited to be heading to Dublin to face Leeds United as part of our pre-season preparations ahead of a big campaign.
