PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia supreme council member Datuk Dr Rais Hussin has dismissed as fake news over a video purportedly showing him doing a deal with the Defence Minister. He was commenting on a tweet by user Citizen Burhanudeen@Burhanudeen asking him to respond to a video containing photographs showing Dr Rais posing with a local businessman together with several ministers and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Anwar Ibrahim at separate events. Dr Rais said the video - which first surfaced about three months ago - could be the work of political foes or someone who is vying for the foreign workers contract project. Dr Rais, who is involved in the telecommunications industry, acknowledged that he knew the local businessman but clarified that he did not set up any special meetings for the man to meet with ministers and other leaders. Asked if he would take the matter up with the authorities to investigate the fake news, Dr Rais said he would not.
