Ada Wodu, CalabarThe candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the House of Representatives rerun election in Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in Cross River State, Alex Egbona, has been declared the winner of the election. In the Abi State Constituency rerun, Davies Etta of the Peoples Democratic Party was declared the winner. He polled 13349 votes to defeat 11 other candidates, including Inah Eyeng Iwara of the All Progressives Congress who polled 8797 votes. The results of both the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency and Abi State Constituency reruns were signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alalibo Johnson. A statement made available to journalists by INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Anthonia Nwobi, said, “The kidnapped victim has regained freedom from his abductors without election materials recovered, which include sensitive and non-sensitive materials.
