Ada Wodu, CalabarUnidentified gunmen abducted officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission with materials for the rerun election for the 8 polling units in Afafanyi/Igonigoni ward under Abi State Constituency on Saturday in Cross River State. According to him, the security men that accompanied the materials and men on election duties decided to avoid casualty by not engaging the armed men in the middle of the river. Meanwhile, there was a large turnout of voters in the House of Representatives rerun election for Ekureku I and II in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State on Saturday. Our correspondent who monitored the election across the wards observed that election materials arrived early and voters turned out as early as 6: 30 am. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission tried their best to control the huge crowd at Gbagaro Agbara and Egbonyi polling units in Ekureku II Ward.
