The Bureau of Customs seized a Ferrari and two Lamborghini sports cars, steels and household goods worth some P24.2 million at the Manila International Container Port. Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said the shipments came from Australia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and China. Also confiscated were household goods and steels which were all misdeclared to defraud the government of correct duties and taxes. Meanwhile, two shipments of steel consigned to Hongtaisheng Steel Inc. was seized due to a discrepancy in declared weight. “These shipments will undergo forfeiture proceedings to know their liability to the government,” Lapena added.
